Building foundations for decent jobs creation and inclusive social protection in Senegal
The main objective of this joint programme (JP) is to support the Government of Senegal and its Financial and Technical Partners (FTP’s) to identify, prepare and monitor inclusive solutions for the creation and improvement of decent jobs and the expansion of inclusive social protection, in the form of a Roadmap for the Global Accelerator. The JP is a well-timed and important programme to support the new Government of Senegal in its process of operationalizing their strategic vision with a focus on job and social protection. The inclusive process that will lead to the development and adoption of such Roadmap contributes to the creation of an enabling environment in which the Roadmap can be rolled-out at an accelerated pace. The integrated and well-coordinated process of the development of the Roadmap (output 1) includes the enhancements of capacities and knowledge of stakeholders (output 2) with regards to decent jobs and social protection. This is done in a concerted manner to build national ownership for the approach and ensure a good representation of stakeholders in the development process, but also to enhance knowledge of key stakeholders that will be key in the roll-out of the Roadmap. The process also includes the use of diagnostics and evidence-based research developed by the ILO to provide informed advice at both technical and strategic level (output 3). Finally, the project promotes strong coordination for the roll-out of the Roadmap (output 4), with strong ownership of the Government, social partners and other key stakeholders.
