Global Centre on Digital Wages for Decent Work
The project “Global Centre for on digital wages for Decent Work – Phase 2” promotes the transition from cash to responsible digital wage payments. Through research, evidence-based advocacy, and the development of the capacity of both employers and workers as well as of inclusive digital payment ecosystems, the Global Centre enables male and female workers around the world to receive their correct wages, paid digitally into bank accounts or mobile money wallets and make the most out of them. The Global Centre supports the development of conducive regulatory frameworks and financial ecosystems that i) enhance the productivity of enterprises, ii) encourage the respect of labour rights, and iii) boost the financial inclusion of workers. The Global Centre works toward mainstreaming wage digitization agenda in various initiatives and scaling up adoption. The Global Centre is operated from ILO Geneva headquarters and has field activities in five countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America (including Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines and Peru).
