Policy reform for safe journeys for Cambodian factory workers
Given the problem with commuting and transportation safety of garment and footwear factory workers in Cambodia, the project aims to improve this situation by achieving the 2 below outputs: Output 1: Improved safety practices of workers travelling on two-wheel and collective vehicles at 30 factories across Cambodia and helmet-wearing behaviour among communities surrounding target factories. Output 2: Enhanced support from MoLVT/NSSF and factories nationwide for legislative policy change and the approval of factory- and national-level factory worker safety standards targeting two-wheel and collective vehicles and collective transport. The project is implemented by Better Factories Cambodia (BFC) and the AIP Foundation. BFC will be responsible for implementing the Activity 1.7 under the Output 1; namely, launching Pubic Awareness Campaign (PAC) and press conference targeting increased helmet wearing behaviour among communities surrounding target factories.
