Supporting the preparation of the roadmap for the GA in Cabo Verde and feasibility studies to accelerate the eradication of extreme poverty at municipal level through decent jobs and social protection

The project aims to: - Support the Government of Cabo Verde in the preparation of its roadmap for the GA (Global Accelerator). The country joined the GA as a pathfinder country on January 24th, 2024, and is currently in the process of preparing the national roadmap. With the support of UNCT (United Nations Country Team), the Government has initiated the mapping of social protection and employment national plans and the identification of constraints that could benefit from external support. This project supports further analysis of the opportunities that the GA can offer and the challenges it is expected to tackle, as well as the preparation of a participatory diagnostic and the final drafting of the roadmap. - Support the Government of Cabo Verde, through the preparation of feasibility studies, to design a strategy to articulate and better integrate the different national social protection and employment plans at the municipal level. Cabo Verde’s central priority and commitment to eradicating extreme poverty by 2026 will require further integration of these sectoral plans and policies, taking into consideration concrete gaps in different municipalities. The ultimate goal is to ensure the sustainability of the current national strategy to eradicate extreme poverty, including by building institutional capacity for its implementation.
