Social Partners as Agents for Just Transition
The “Social Partners as Agents for Just Transition” project is an initiative by BMZ and the ILO to support governments, workers and employers organizations in integrating just transition principles into the 2025 Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). As countries revise their climate commitments, this project aims to ensure that the ILO Just Transition principles are reflected through social dialogue and specific capacity-building to enhance social partners' engagement. Focusing on 10 countries, the project strengthens social partner capacities, promotes evidence-based policies, and fosters knowledge-sharing through a Just Transition Gateway. The project facilitate tripartite dialogue in six core countries, with potential expansion. Led by multiple ILO departments, this initiative ensures that climate action supports decent work, economic stability, and social equity.
