Strengthening Policies and Capacities for Green Jobs for Youth in Africa
The UNDA-financed project contributes to the overarching objectives of the Green Jobs for Youth Pact – a flagship legacy initiative of Stockholm+50 – designed to accelerate action on green skills and jobs in high-impact industries, particularly for disadvantaged and climate-vulnerable youth. "Strengthening policies and capacities for Green Jobs for Youth in Africa" is executed by UNEP in cooperation with UNICEF and ILO, through UN-to-UN agreements. This specific ILO-UNEP Agreement is related to the ILO technical support for the implementation of activities in Senegal and Madagascar. The main objective is to (i) strengthen the knowledge and capacity of policymakers on green youth employment and (ii) enhance inter-ministerial coordination and cooperation with social partners, education institutions and youth organizations in jointly designing, amending, and implementing green youth employment policies.
