Support for Human Rights Due Diligence Legislative Framework Development and Implementation in Pakistan

The project enhances Pakistan’s compliance with international labour standards by integrating them within a human rights due diligence legislative framework. It does so by improving stakeholder capacities, strengthening protection mechanisms for workers, and enabling relevant stakeholders—government institutions, employers, workers, and civil society—to fulfill their national and international commitments related to Business and Human Rights (BHR). The project builds on previous initiatives to strengthen legislative and institutional mechanisms, ensuring effective monitoring, enforcement, and compliance with international obligations under ILO Conventions, the GSP+ framework, and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). It also contributes to bringing key stakeholders, such as civil society organisations, workers' organisations, and employers, to engage meaningfully in policy advocacy and social dialogue, contributing to a more inclusive and transparent framework for human rights due diligence and business practices in Pakistan.
