Strategic Skills Partnership Initiative (SSPI) for Innovation and Excellence in VET
The Strategic Skills Partnership Initiative for Innovation and Excellence in VET (SSPI) is a project under the Global VET Agenda that aims to enhance the capacity of social partners—employers' and workers' organizations—as well as policymakers, and to strengthen their partnerships in advancing excellence and innovation in VET. This aim is achieved through a global initiative with flagship deliverables, including a VET Policy Guide for social partners and policymakers, a global VET Academy for capacitation, and a global skills forum for meaningful engagement in skills development and lifelong learning policies. It also includes a regional initiative in Africa to strengthen VET networks and capacity building for work-based learning. The SSPI enables stakeholders to contribute to developing agile, future-ready, and resilient VET systems aligned with labour market needs. The project involves consultation and cooperation with the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), and other agencies within the TVET Inter-Agency Group, including the OECD, UNEVOC, ETF, as well as key regional and national institutions.
