Global Awareness Raising on Social and Solidarity Economy Statistics

The project Global Awareness Raising on Social and Solidarity Economy Statistics is improving the availability, accessibility and quality of SSE statistics, enhancing decision-making to advance the SSE’s contribution to decent work, social justice and sustainable development. It addresses critical awareness gaps, including gender-responsive and disability-inclusive data, and develops a regularly updated database on SSE statistics, measurement practices and relevant resources and events. Complementing other ILO initiatives, it leverages ILO tripartism and standard setting in labour law and statistics. The project also fosters partnerships, notably with the UNTFSSE, COPAC and their associated entities, through structures such as Technical Working Groups and the Community of Practice. By providing knowledge products, communication materials and awareness-raising activities, the project improves the use and visibility of SSE statistics and increases understanding among governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations, national statistical offices, SSE networks and representative bodies, academic institutions and research centres, organizations working on gender and disability issues, and other stakeholders globally. The project’s outputs generate long-term benefits through enhanced global awareness and understanding of gender-responsive and disability-inclusive SSE statistics among key stakeholders. The long-term impact includes improved availability, accessibility and quality of SSE statistics, contributing to more informed decision-making that furthers the SSE’s contribution to decent work, social justice and sustainable development.
