Employment Intensive Infrastructure Programme in Lebanon (EIIP) – Phase VII

Overall Programme Objective: Increased resilience of local host communities achieved, with improved livelihoods for host community members and Syrian refugees, characterized by decent work, enhanced social well-being, and a safeguarded local environment. Project Objective 1: Improved access to and increased generation of decent employment and income for Lebanese host communities and Syrian refugees, contributing to a just transition. Attaining this objective is indicated by measurement of the number of worker-days created, the number of people benefitting from work on an LRBT project; and the number jobs created, i.e. number of people working for 40 days or more , and the type and number and sustainability of the infrastructure created or maintained. Project Objective 2: Enhanced capacity of national partners and workers, evidenced by enhanced abilities in job creation, improved asset management, and increased employability. Attaining this objective is indicated by the measurement of the number of private contractors and staff receiving formal training and impact of the training on their performance; the number of public officials receiving formal training and their improved knowledge of EIIP and principles of decent work; the number of EIIP beneficiaries benefitting from on-the-job orientation and the number and availability of key knowledge products produced. Additionally, tracer studies is conducted to assess the increased level of future employability of beneficiaries beyond the EIIP experience.
