Impulso al Trabajo Decente en Guatemala
The Programme for the Promotion of Decent Work in Guatemala is a joint effort by the Government of Guatemala and the European Union to contribute to poverty reduction through the promotion of decent employment and the strengthening of the labour market. The Action is implemented with the support of the International Labour Organization to improve access to employment, particularly for young people, women, Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities and returning migrants, in line with the National Decent Employment Policy and the country’s development priorities. The Action is aligned with the Team Europe Initiative and the Global Gateway strategy, integrating a sustainable development approach that links job creation with social inclusion, gender equality, civil society participation and respect for fundamental labour rights. It also contributes to institutional strengthening and social dialogue, supporting national efforts to ensure freedom of association and collective bargaining. In this way, the Action promotes a more inclusive, resilient and sustainable growth model that places people at the centre of development and strengthens social cohesion in Guatemala.
