Contribution to the ILO’s Global Programme on the Approach to Inclusive Market Systems (AIMS) for Refugees and Vulnerable groups

This contribution of Austrian Development Ageny (ADA) to the ILO’s Global Programme on the Approach to Inclusive Market Systems (AIMS) combines country-level implementation with global learning and advocacy to demonstrate how market-based solutions can deliver sustainable, decent work for refugees and vulnerable host communities. The programme aims to catalyse inclusive job creation in two priority contexts: in Lebanon by developing the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector as a source of decent employment for Lebanese and Syrian workers, and in Kenya by integrating urban refugees and vulnerable host communities into growing beauty and construction sectors. Building on these and other ILO AIMS initiatives, the programme aims to systematically distill evidence and lessons to enrich practitioner exchanges, inform global practice and strengthen humanitarian–development coherence.
