1. Article 1 of the Convention. The Committee notes the Government's response to its previous comments that the survey on wages and hours of work is carried out each year and that the data on employment and wages for 1988 will soon be transmitted to the ILO. It again requests the Government to provide information concerning the publication of the statistics and any measures envisaged to accelerate their publication.

2. Article 12. The Committee notes the Government's indication that the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics compiles data on wages which show the general movement of wages. It asks the Government to state whether index numbers showing such movement are compiled, or if it is envisaged to compile them.

3. The Committee hopes that the technical cooperation project carried out by the ILO in the field of labour statistics will help the Government to improve further the application of the Convention.
