The Committee notes with regret that no report has been received from the Government. It hopes that a report will be supplied for examination by the Committee at its next session and that it will contain full information on the following matters raised in its previous direct request:
Article 2 of the Convention. 1. In its earlier comments, the Committee referred to the Government’s statement that members of the armed forces have the right to leave the service freely in peacetime, and asked the Government to provide a copy of the relevant provisions. The Committee once again requests the Government to provide copies of the provisions of the national legislation which concern the right of the various categories of career service personnel to leave the service in time of peace within a reasonable period. 2. The Committee also requests the Government to provide a copy of any decree adopted under section 4 of Ordinance No. 83/010 of 4 February 1983, which repeals the provisions of Ordinance No. 74/017 of 26 January 1974 (establishing a 15-year period of compulsory state service for all persons who have received training at the expense of the State).
