The Committee note with regret that the Government’s report has not been received. It must therefore repeat its previous observation which read as follows.
The Committee notes the observations on the application of the Convention sent by the Trade Union Federation of Haiti alleging that agricultural workers have no medical coverage. These observations were sent to the Government in October 2002. It hopes that a report will be sent for examination at its next session and that it will contain information on the measures taken or envisaged gradually to establish a compulsory sickness insurance scheme for agricultural workers which will enable effect to be given to the Convention. It reminds the Government in this connection that it may seek technical assistance from the International Labour Office. The Committee hopes that the Government will make every effort to take the necessary action in the very near future.
