The Committee welcomes the detailed information supplied by the Government on the legislation giving effect to most of the provisions of the Convention. It also commends the efforts made in terms of safety training in dock work for new dockworkers, specific training in assistance (Dockworkers’ Intervention Group (DIG)) and specialization in risk analysis by experienced dockworkers.
Article 26(2) and (3) of the Convention. Mutual recognition of arrangements made by Members for testing and examination. Lack of adequate safety guarantees. The Committee notes that the Government does not specify the applicable provisions with regard to Article 26(2) and (3) of the Convention. It requests the Government to indicate what measures are applicable if the competent authority is not satisfied by reference to a certificate of test or examination or to an authenticated record, as the case may be, that the necessary test, examination or inspection has been carried out in accordance with the provisions of this Convention, or if, in the view of the competent authority, the appliance or gear is not safe for use.
