The Committee notes that the Government’s report has not been received. It hopes that a report will be supplied for examination by the Committee at its next session and that it will contain full information on the matters raised in its previous direct request, which read as follows:
Repetition
Article 2 of the Convention. Length of weekly rest. Further to its previous comments on section 107 of the Labour Code, the Committee notes that, according to the Government, the printing error made in the Labour Code upon its publication in the Official Gazette, will be corrected when the Code is next revised and that tripartite consultations are currently under way in order to finalize the updating of the Code. The Committee notes that the Government has applied for technical assistance in finalizing this work and reminds it that it may contact the ILO’s subregional office in Costa Rica, which already organized training workshops in 2007. The Committee hopes that the Office will respond favourably and as soon as possible to the abovementioned request and asks the Government to keep it informed of any developments in this respect and to provide a copy of any relevant texts as soon as they are adopted.
