Uganda

Submission. The Committee once again notes with regret that the Government has provided no response to its previous comments. It recalls that the constitutional obligation of submission is of the highest importance and is a fundamental element of the standards system of the ILO. The Committee therefore once again reiterates its request that the Government provide information on the submission of the Employment and Decent Work for Peace and Resilience Recommendation, 2017 (No. 205), adopted at the 106th Session of the Conference, as well as the Violence and Harassment Recommendation (No. 206), 2019, adopted by the Conference at its 108th Session.

Consultation. The Committee notes with interest the ratification by Uganda of the Violence and Harassment Convention, 2019 (No. 2019) on 7 August 2023. The Committee requests the Government to provide information on the tripartite consultations held prior to the ratifications, as required by the Tripartite Consultation (International Labour Standards) Convention, 1976 (No. 144).
