Direct Request (CEACR) - adopted 2023, published 112nd ILC session (2024)

Bermuda
The Committee takes note of the Government’s report.
The Committee recalls that the ILO Governing Body at its 349th Session, October–November 2023, on the recommendation of the Standards Review Mechanism Tripartite Working Group (SRM TWG), confirmed the classification of Convention No. 10 as an outdated instrument, and placed an item on the agenda of the 117th Session of the International Labour Conference (2028) for the consideration of its abrogation.
The Governing Body requested the Office to undertake follow-up action to actively encourage the ratification of the Minimum Age Convention, 1973 (No. 138), which is the most up-to-date instrument on minimum age, in Member States in which Convention No. 10 is currently in force. Accordingly, the Committee encourages the Government to follow-up the Governing Body’s decision at its 349th Session (October–November 2023) approving the recommendations of the SRM TWG, and to consider extending the application of Convention No. 138 to Bermuda.

Direct Request (CEACR) - adopted 2001, published 90th ILC session (2002)

The Committee notes that the Government’s report has not been received. It hopes that a report will be supplied for examination by the Committee at its next session and that it will contain full information on the practical application of the legislation giving effect to the Convention as required under Part V of the report form, including statistics on the number of children employed in agricultural undertakings, inspections made and the contraventions reported.

Direct Request (CEACR) - adopted 1996, published 85th ILC session (1997)

The Committee notes from the report of the Government that there has been no change in the application of the Convention. It would appreciate it if the Government would supply information on the practical application of the legislation giving effect to the Convention as required under point V of the report form, including statistics on the number of children employed in agricultural undertakings, inspections made and the contraventions reported.
