Comments and Observations:ITF (2005)
Crew contacted the ITF directly and indirectly through other seafarers. Crew reported that they had not received wages from 7 to 11 months. Owner failed to supply provisions for a number of months.

UPDATE: No replies from Bolivian registry or Ukrainian Consulate; No means of contacting crew.

ILO/IMO (February 2006)
Joint letter co-signed by ILO Director general and IMO Secretary General to the Flag State administration, urging them to facilitate the resolution of this case.

ITF (14 July 2006)
UPDATE: The ITF notes the following statement from the response received from the flag State: "In relation to Resolution A.930 (22) adopted on 29 November 2001 "Guidelines on Provision of Financial Security in Case of Abandonment of Seafarers"with the intention to take
future action, this administration is analysing the possibility to require all shipowners for them to take an obligation of financial assurance in case of the abandoned seafarers as a prerequisite to be registered under our flag".

The ILO was informed by the ICFTU/ITF that, following contact with the Registry, the ITF was considering that the case could be classed as resolved.
