Commentaires et observations: | Gouv. de Panama (2 juillet 2021) From Maritime Labour Affairs Department I would like to mentioned that Maritime Labour Affairs department followed up this complaint since it was filed. We proceeded to contact the owners/agents and P&I as usual. Few days ago, they inform us that the crew had been paid, their six months of outstanding wages were paid by the company and the crew were back home on June 26 and 29, 2021 respectively. According to the last information received by the complainant, this abandonment case has been settled.
Organisation maritime internationale (5 juillet 2021) IMO also received the attached message from Mr. Sipho Mbatha, Alt Perm Rep of South Africa to IMO, that the authorities of South Africa had looked into the matter and confirmed that the vessel’s crew did not report anything. Apparently the vessel arrived on on 23 June 2021 for Grain loading and sailed on 27 June 2021 for Beira, Mozambique and there were no reports of such. We have also checked with Port Control and nothing was reported to them either.
Organisation maritime internationale (12 juillet 2021) I would very much appreciate to receive a confirmation from ITF that the case has been settled and can be reported as being resolved.
Gouv. de Panama (29 juillet 2021) From Panama Maritime Authority We would like to make you know that we received the following message: “Please be confirmed that Crew wages were settled and paid in Full as attached documents. We further confirmed that there was NO any outstanding Final Wages and Leave Pay, fully paid before disembarked from the vessel. Master, Capt. Soe Naing Win and 2/O Khin Maung Swe had sent special allotment. Master, Capt. Soe Naing Win do not wish to carry big amount of cash with him. 2/O Khin Maung Swe sent allotment to his elder brother in Jakarta, Indonesia. We take care of crew welfare and arrange to remit their requested account in other countries outside Myanmar. 12 crew were also signed off and safely disembarked from the vessel on 26-Jun-2021 as per schedule. 12 signed off crew will arrived back their home port on 29-Jun-2021 “
Fed. int. des ouvriers du transport (ITF) (12 août 2021) 12 crewmembers were repatriated from Durban, South Africa on 24th June 2021 with their owed wages since February 2021. The owner explained that unpaid salaries for other crews can be remitted to bank accounts other than Myanmar to avoid troubles in Myanmar caused by military coup. Total of $ 142,918.47 paid and receipt signed by each crewmember on 24th June 2021. Resolved.
