Source of weights
The weights and selected items were derived from a household expenditure
survey conducted over a six-week period from late August 1975 to early
October 1975 among a sample of 61 households living in urban Tarawa, and
from various records.

markets, retail outlets and service establishments in three main
centres in urban Tarawa.
