Other information
Data supplied to the ILO for publication
The following data are published in the
Yearbook of Labour Statistics:
Paid employment, by economic activity;
Average monthly earnings of employees by economic activity and in
manufacturing, by industry group.
Other sources of data
Since 1994, the Ministry of Statistics and Analysis conducts an
annual Survey on wages and hours of work by occupation (the
October Survey). It covers employees who worked full time
throughout the month of October, in selected occupations within
specific economic activities. The first year, the survey covered
manufacturing enterprises and construction organisations. Its
coverage has been progressively extended to other activities
(e.g. energy, education and medical and dental services). For
each occupation, and separately for managerial and specialist
positions, data are collected on the number of employees, average
wage rates, earnings, normal hours of work and hours actually
worked.
The survey results are published by the ILO in
Statistics on occupational wages and hours of work and on food prices - October Inquiry results, a special supplement to the ILO Bulletin of Labour Statistics.
Since 1992, another annual survey collects data on the
Distribution of employees according to levels of
earnings with reference to the month of December.
