    6.Definition of unemployed persons used for the statistics

    Not only unemployed persons but also persons in employment are eligible for registration, if they are seeking better or alternative jobs.

    An Unemployed Person is defined as a person of either sex, aged at least fifteen and declaring him/herself unemployed and willing to accept a job.

    7.Updating of the registers

    The unemployed register is updated every month and those who have failed to report are removed. Persons in employment report only once a year; this register is updated every four months.

    8.Unemployment rates

    Statistics from the registers are not used to obtain unemployment rates.
