About the interface

This is Version 2.0 of the CISDOC user interface.

The people behind the application

The structure and content of the CISDOC database have been developed by CIS, the International Occupational Safety and Health Information Centre. See more about it under Characteristics of the database. The concept and design of the interface have been worked out by CIS as well.

The program of the interface has been developed by Arcanum Development Ltd. The company, established in 1994, specializes in the fields of

software development,
document, content and knowledge management,
data preparation in multiple languages,
consistency checking,
data publication,
intellectual property related classifications, such as the IPC, Nice, Vienna and Locarno classifications
text improvement.

New/modified features in Version 2

On the basis of our experience with the original interface introduced in September 2004, the following major changes have been implemented in the current version:

Simplified query definition language (no formal distinction between Basic and Advanced Search);

New syntax elements (e.g. reference to earlier queries);

More searchable fields, consistency of field level operations;

Fast and more user-friendly syntax analysis;

New predifined formats (long), more fields to display;

Extended user support (help files, messages);

Better integration with the CISTHES interface;

Increase of the overall performance.
