They were originally defined in Annex 2 of Directive 67/548/EEC and have been most recently published in the Official Journal of the European Communities L 225, 21/08/2001 pp. 1-333

EU symbol for flammable (F) subtances

EU symbol for corrosive (C) substances.

EU symbol for explosive (E) substances.

EU symbol for oxidizing (O) substances.

EU symbol for toxic (T) substances.

EU symbol for irritating (Xi) or harmful (Xn) substances.

EU symbol for environmentally dangerous substances.
