This collection includes data derived from specialized child labour surveys or child labour modules attached to a national household survey, typically a labour force survey. Child labour surveys (CLS) are a type of household survey designed specifically to produce statistics on the different forms of work performed by children. CLS generally cover employment activities, exposure to hazards in the workplace, production of goods for own final consumption, household chores among other topics. The age limits will vary depending on the national context.

CLS are the primary source to produce estimates of child labour for monitoring and planning purposes. At the international level, they are the primary source for monitoring progress towards elimination of the worst forms of child labour under SDG Goal 8.7.
