- comments:
- Home base working women , trainees who participated in skills development courses and women entering the work place outside the home for the first time.
- challenges:
- The subsistence allowance should be carefully administered not to create dependencies that would be difficult to wane out once te women gained employment.
- success:
- Many young mothers who needed to provide for her families were able to be retrain or trained on productive activities thanks to the subsistence programmes.
- context:
- Given the cultural and social restrictions placed on women’s mobilization to work places outside the home, the provision of transportation and subsistence allowances fro working mothers were good incentives.
- description:
- Provision of transport and subsistence allowance can be strong motivating factors for trainees, especially for families of trainees, to perceive the value of the time spent by women outside their homes.
