- challenges:
- It is important for the managers and technicians of the programme to pre-identify the relevant questions, uses and applications for the different components of the research assessment, otherwise it might be a missed opportunity that does not deliver all the outputs that it is capable of.
- success:
- An Impact Research Assessment can provide very valuable inputs for decision making, policy influencing and communication purposes.
The effort made to publish and disseminate the results of the assessment, internally and externally, has been another element that has helped to increase its significance and further application.
- context:
- Impact assessments play an important role in interventions with a developmental approach, such as BW, where reflecting and learning upon one’s own practice represents a key part of the process. Establishing the impact of the service model is essential to keep improving its design and prove its effectiveness before its potential users, however the assessment is also a very valuable tool to inform many other aspects of the implementation strategy.
- description:
- Impact research assessments can have many applications beyond establishing the impact of the programme.
- administrative_issues:
- In order to optimize the uses and applications of impact research assessments, it is important to systematize and set a protocol on how they could be designed and applied.
