- 6. Strengthening government systems to collect intersecting data on EVAW and labour migration is a multi-layered complex task that presents various challenges, and cannot be done in a short timeframe. The Safe and Fair Programme has discovered through its work under Objective #3 that there are multiple complexities involved in collecting intersecting data on both EVAW and labour migration that include the complex task of strengthening government systems that are far from being ready to produce complete data sets on sex disaggregated labour migration and violence against women migrant workers, as well as the need to do no harm and to protect women migrant workers when they are in vulnerable situations. Collecting this specific and sensitive data requires significant investments in time and resources that must be sustained over a long enough period to make changes at the institutional and cultural levels.
