- The staffing reduction has led to a smaller volume of activities in Malaysia and Viet Nam than in other countries the programme implements in.
- success:
- In Viet Nam, TRIANGLE in ASEAN has been able to coordinate with the Ship to Shore regional programme and have activities supported by their NPC. TRIANGLE in ASEAN supported 3 months of salary to cover a budgetary shortfall. The Country Office in Viet Nam has utilised the NPC in a de facto programme officer role to act as a focal point for all migration related activities.
While full funding for an NPC (and Admin and Finance Assistant) would be ideal for a programme on this size, where funding is limited, identifying ways to share NPCs with different projects helps address human resource gaps.
