- comments:
- The total of 1,136 persons (M556, F580) joined the cooperatives as new members from the three areas. These persons together with their respective families have been displaced for about 25 districts. The places where they were resettled have been severely destroyed as a result of the war.
- challenges:
- none
- success:
- The targeting of the three areas was based on a meticulous and time consuming exercise the project had undertaken to duly study the situation, issues and areas prior to making the final choice.
- context:
- The three areas selected for the project represent the areas that have been severely affected by the war from the early stages and hence the people who were forced to leave have experienced multiple displacements over a period of about 25 years, according to the KIIS with government officials and research data cited in the initial assessment report (Amte Consultants).
- description:
- Sound efforts of identifying and targeting of the most significant areas and locations for the project have brought about positive results of successful outreach of the beneficiaries who required the livelihood support most.
