- Following a decision from ILO ROAS management, engagement with the UAE was supsended. FAIRWAY has explored alternative means of engagement with partners in the GCC, including for example collaboration with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Labour and Social Development on a study of the "musaned" electronic recruiting platform

- Reconsider approach to UAE
Considering all different opinions received by the evaluator on how to engage with the UAE, the most sensible approach for FAIRWAY might be the following:
o continue implementing the approach to the construction sector with the “Building Responsibly” initiative, but for now refrain from engaging with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization as suggested in the Construction Sector Engagement Strategy (joint workshop planned for 2018).
o re-introduce FAIRWAY as an opportunity for the UAE government to provide support to their agenda in implementing activities which could be funded by them (or cost-shared) and contribute to improve decent work and migration conditions with a longer-term perspective of reaching international standards.
o Accept working with UAE without precise time table, leaving them to decide at which pace they would be willing to engage.
