- The project has helped established during Phase I, three cooperatives in Upper Egypt (2 in Aswan and 1 in Red Sea). The Agricultural Cooperative in Aswan is active and receives support from different donors, however the two other cooperatives (handcrafts) would still require support, especially that the Red Sea one was not registered till very recently. Since these two cooperatives are based in “border governorates” which makes it difficult for the project to have activities there directly due to security issues, the recent agreement with the NCW could represent a good opportunity to the further support this cooperative.
