The ILO has expressed concerns that national as well as international stakeholders have to come to realize that the cost of EII, although of an extremely low relative amount, has to be understood to be part of the purchasing prices of goods and services manufactured by the covered local enterprises and their workforces. There should be more concerted advocacy at multilateral forum by ILO and MoLE. This is a crucial political underpinning to the possible success of an EII scheme to come to reality.
