Develop a sustainability strategy for all outcomes. MAP 16 should develop a sustainability strategy for all its outcomes. Under Outcome 1, it is advised to follow up the use of the research products by the ultimate stakeholders. Specifically, the programme should follow up on the study of sugarcane in Panama. Under Outcome 2, decisions to prioritize the current outputs should also be guided by the sustainability criteria. For Outcome 3, an internal exercise of comparative analysis of countries where sustainability is stronger could benefit the programme at this stage. Peer-to-peer learning should be applied in this case. Decisions on sustainability for the regional initiatives in LAC and Africa should also be prioritized. Under Outcome 4, it is advised to consider the sustainability criteria, while prioritizing the remaining current outputs.
