- comments:
- The UK government wanted to close the programme in 2023 and they were not willing to give more than a 6 months no cost extension to the ILO, thus the extension of the programme for 12 months until March 2024 was not possible. The ILO was able to negotiate a six months no cost extension for the programme components in Malaysia and the Philippines (i.e., from 01 April 2023 until 30 September 2023) and 3 months for the programme component in Indonesia (i.e. from 01 April 2023 until 30 June 2023). The rationale for the 3 months no cost extension for the programme component in Indonesia was mainly due to the limited funds available to extend the contracts of the ILO staff.

- 1) SfP SEA Programme extension is recommended until March 2024, based on initial plan of 42 months duration which is minimum net implementation time required for reaching meaningful outcome, in particular to recover time lost due to the Covid-19 pandemic and to consolidate achievements. With given amounts of funding and depending on existing committments, based on the mid-term evaluation results, a trade-off could also be made between country components, prioritizing those country components that have shown the highest potential impact and have the strongest potential for consolidation (Philippines and Indonesia).
