The revitalization and expansion of UnionCoLab Asia-Pacific is well underway. As part of this effort, a newly enhanced Online CoP will be launched in July 2025.
action_plan:
A key objective of the ongoing project is to expand and strengthen the Community of Practice (CoP) as a dynamic space for continuous learning, collaboration, and peer-to-peer exchange. To support this goal, the project will produce a suite of engaging micro-learning resources and digital learning tools, including podcasts, videos, quizzes, and modular content that will be accessible through both the CoP and the broader learning platform. The initiative also envisions the development of a more advanced and integrated Online Resource Hub (or "learning cloud"), in collaboration with ITCILO, to enhance the accessibility, scalability, and innovation of trade union education across the region. The Online Resource Hub, housed within UnionCoLab Asia Pacific, will serve as a curated digital library offering open access to practical, high-quality materials for trade union leaders, educators, and members. As a central pillar of the ACTRAV-ACFTU South-South Cooperation Project, the Hub will promote knowledge sharing and capacity development by providing timely, relevant, and user-friendly resources tailored to the evolving needs of trade unions in the Asia-Pacific region. Key features of the Hub will include:  Interactive digital learning tools designed to strengthen trade union education and organizing capacity.  Curated thematic resource packages on key labour issues, including toolkits, policy briefs, manuals, guidelines, and case studies.  Downloadable ILO publications, such as conventions, recommendations, and sector-specific reports.  Documented best practices and innovations from national labour centres and sectoral unions across the region.  Multimedia resources—including infographics, podcasts, and videos—to support varied learning styles and preferences.  Templates and guides to enable unions to autonomously develop training content and lead their own capacity-building initiatives. The Hub will be continuously updated by a dedicated resource team and enriched by contributions from participating unions, ensuring it remains a living, responsive, and relevant knowledge base for the region’s trade union movement. Transforming Course Materials into Self-Guided Online Micro-Courses Previously developed learning materials are being updated, refreshed, and transformed into self-guided, open-access online micro-courses. Among the first to be redesigned are (1) Social Dialogue for Solutions and (2) Digital Communication for Trade Unions. These micro-courses will be made available as part of structured learning paths within the UnionCoLab Asia-Pacific platform. This approach will also be applied to additional existing and future modules, ensuring broader accessibility, continuous learning, and long-term usability.

title:
Continue to exploit the developed platforms and training modules. In the development of the five training modules, the establishment of a Community of Practice, and the creation of a learning cloud, significant energy was invested, resulting in a highly attractive, inviting, and effective online learning environment. It is recommended that in the future, these training modules be made available for repetition by new participants in the region. Additionally, the training modules could be adapted for other regions. It is also advisable to continue supporting the Community of Practice to allow it to reach its full potential, facilitating the exchange of ideas and experiences among union representatives across different countries and regions. Finally, the learning cloud holds substantial potential since the developed online training materials can be utilized by trainers in their national contexts, potentially leading to a multiplier effect (this point should be considered in conjunction with recommendation 1).
