- comments:
- The ILO Office for Türkiye has developed and is leading the UN Joint Programme on the Care Economy in cooperation with UNDP, funded by the UN SDG Fund. The programme will continue until the end of October 2025. Negotiations for scaling up the SDG Fund support is planned to initiate in May. Additionally, the Office has identified entry points within each of its projects to promote gender equality in the world of work, in line with international labour standards (ILS). While collaborating with the UN SDG Fund, the Office has also initiated negotiations for a new project focused on care workers—particularly domestic workers—with another donor, the European Commission.
- action_plan:
- Despite the decreasing availability of funding sources in the field of development, the following actions are planned: explore opportunities for UN joint projects and joint funding mechanisms; maintain momentum with constituents on gender equality by integrating activities related to international labour standards on gender equality into the other projects conducted by the ILO Office for Türkiye; organize donor roundtables; and map CSR initiatives and other potential funding sources

Engage multiple donors to ensure broad support and alignment with project goals, strengthening internal and external coherence efforts, exploring synergies for expanded funding, and seeking opportunities with the private sector - particularly through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes (e.g., contributing to responsible value chains, the care economy, disaster risk management, green jobs, equal access to the job market for young women and men, and addressing gender, disability and human rights issues - such as child labour).
