The ILO has taken this into account in the follow-on EU-funded project currently under implementation, PSE-24-03-EU (109659). As stated in paragraph 2.3 of the signed agreement, “The implementation period of the agreement is 36 (thirty-six) months.” While such timeframes cannot be guaranteed for all future development cooperation (DC) programmes - as they remain dependent on donor funding cycles - this particular project has incorporated the recommendation into its design from the outset, starting with the consultation phase. The extended timeline aims at enhancing project's adaptability to the highly volatile OPT context and to ensure enhanced soustainability of the intervention beyond the project's timeline. However, it is important to underscore that extending the project timeframe should ideally be accompanied by commensurate donor support for staffing, to ensure effective management and operational viability throughout the duration of the intervention.
