ILO is currently developing an M-GA proposal (Multistakeholder Engagement to implement the Global Accelerator on Jobs and Social Protection for Just Transitions and the World Bank Social Protection and Jobs Compass) in partnership with the World Bank, Unicef and WFP. Furthermore, the ILO is supporting MoSD in the development of a pre-planning to be submitted to the G20 Global Alliance Against Hunger to mobilize external support to the implementation national social protection schemes. In the framework of the EU-funded project under implementation, the ILO and UNICEF (project partner) aim at developing a nexus costed roadmap and a multi-year financing strategy. In addition to that, ILO is continuing technical support to the MoSD, and donor partners, to ensure that the National Cash Transfer Programme continues to deliver in the West Bank and resumes in the Gaza strip (where it was active ahead of the 2023 conflict). To that purpose, the ILO has provided technical support in the development of a pilot programme to reintroduce the NCTP in Gaza through the roll out of Social Allowances for PWDs and OPs, channelling non-traditional donors funds and Zakat funds to supporting the pilot. The pilot programme implementation has been publicly announced by the MoSD and is expected to be implemented in the coming months. However, any progress on this is subject to clarity on a governmental-suggested structural changes to the NCTP that is also under the scrutiny of key external donors and partners, including the ILO.
