comments:
Each of the four UN participating and collaborating Agencies in the SAMM project were in charge of inviting and involving technical, administrative and finance colleagues from country and regional offices to weekly SAMM coordination/collaboration meetings, as needed. In practice, this system worked very effectively. In the case of the involvement of UN Country offices, we did collaborate in several activities with the UN Resident Coordinators (e.g. the joint UN Advocacy campaign to combat discrimination and hate speech against migrants in South Africa and Seychelles).
action_plan:
As mentioned in the previous point, coordination among UN country and regional offices to better support agencies and enhance inter-agency collaboration was ensured by the ILO. In addition, each Agency could allocate resources between regional and local offices as considered necessary. It resulted in effective country-specific interventions. This recommendation will definitely be taken on-board in similar initiatives. For the moment, no follow-up initiatives are considered.

title:
Strengthen coordination among UN country and regional offices to better support agencies and enhance inter-agency collaboration. Similarly, plan for more involvement of UN country offices (e.g., the role of the Resident Coordinator) in supporting the agencies and coordination among PUNOs in the countries. Establishing clear leadership roles while maintaining collaborative decision-making processes would significantly improve project efficiency. Balance resource allocation between regional and local implementation to avoid procedural bottlenecks and ensure effective country-specific interventions.
