NORMES
title:
Foster more effective peer learning across countries. Justification: In interviews and the survey, several ILO staff expressed a desire for more regular and informal opportunities to engage with peers. Existing platforms were seen as either too formal or too ad hoc to support effective exchange and learning. The focus in countries in Africa on the implementation of the MNE Declaration, for instance, offers valuable lessons that could inform efforts in the remaining and future programme countries. As activities in these African countries conclude by the end of 2025, the recommendation also includes short-term actions to facilitate timely knowledge-sharing before project closure. Possible actions: This recommendation focuses on creating structured yet informal spaces to support peer exchange among ILO staff involved in the project across countries – potentially also including other project stakeholders and contributors. Depending on the audiences’ needs and preferences, this could be periodic thematic learning sessions, moderated roundtables, or informal communities of practice. It is important to assess demand, determine suitable formats, and define a feasible frequency and number of activities, in line with available resources.
