- to ensure greater coordination and synergies between its seven departments in relation to policy implementation, decision-making and delivery of services;
- to promote and support a more strategic approach to Office-wide management and administration issues;
- to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of support services;
- to provide more integrated support to the main bodies responsible for management and administration of the Organization, namely, the Governing Body and the International Labour Conference;
- to promote best practices and knowledge-sharing at management level, as well as a more practical approach to managing change and problem-solving; and
- to advance accountability and transparency in the operations of the Office.
